The Blog

Join me every month while I dive into sessions, show examples of my work in more detail and give advice to other aspiring boudoir photographers on my blog.  What can you hope to achieve reading this blog?

An inside look into creative sessions

Each month I try to experiment with at least one session, these are discounted sessions for clients who are happy to share images and if you'd like to be considered for a creative session please do subscribe for updates. These creative sessions usually create amazingly different photographs unlike most boudoir photographers in the UK and I am always striving for a uniqueness that aligns with my clients personality and individuality.

More in-depth full sessions

I also show more in-depth shoots from parties, cake smashes and engagements among other on location and studio portrait sessions for those wishing to see a more in depth look at how their shoots may look and what I can achieve.

Studio Boundaries

The blog is also where you may wish to read my studio boundaries for Boudoir sessions, these boundaries differ from studio to studio and I want to be upfront about these before you enquire incase you are looking to create images with a partner or video footage etc.

Some tips and tricks I've picked up

I love everything about photography, I definitely identify as a bit of a photography nerd! As I buy new kit and experiment I hope to pass on some of the lessons I learn to other photography nerds!

Lights, Camera, Action! Capturing the Vibes at the 2024 Alzheimers Charity Ball.

This November, I was booked to capture all the fun of a ball held at The Village Hotel in Farnborough. Kenzie, who is raising money for Alzheimer's, put this together. You can check out her lovely small business, Mackenzie Paige Interiors, here!

The ball was full of fundraising and general joy with a raffle, auction, food and dancing. Kenzie wanted me to capture the decor and performers as well as the ambience and as many guest candids as possible to hold as memories for the guests.

During the event, I offered group and couples photos to guests as well as candids and the event organisers had set up 3 seated areas with fun backdrops that acted as fabulous areas for posed photos. We had LED lights, huge balloons and fun sofas.

After the event, I sent a public link to all the guests and performers so that everyone could download images that they wanted to keep.

The Village Hotel:

This was the first time I had been to the village hotel, which is just around the corner from me in Farnborough and I'm in Fleet. It has a Starbucks and a co-working space, though, so I'll probably be back! The room we were in was Inspiration 1. It's a big square-shaped room with neutral colours, large doors/windows along one wall, and a bar room leading into it that acted as a reception space.

Shooting at night:

This was an evening event and only very dimly lit so I used on-camera direct and indirect flash to shoot the whole event except for a few atmospheric shots. Shutter drag shots and long exposures helped me to create a sense of movement and fun while bringing in extra colour to a dimly lit room.

I love event photography, I like getting onto the dancefloor and having a little boogie, making friends and shooting events like I'm a guest, this allows me to get up close to the action without distracting anyone from the good times! If you're looking for a photographer for your event get in touch and let's talk it!
