My journey with photography really started when I was a child, I was the friend with a digital camera in the 90s with a myspace page that boasted heavy creative vibes and the teenager that would upload the Facebook albums for the nights out. My Dad was a wedding photographer and when I was 16 I was gifted my first DSLR for my birthday and would attend weddings as my Dads second. I went to college after A levels to study photography and honestly, I was talked out of a creative life and went into a corporate job. It wasn't glamorous but it paid the bills.

I was given the incredible opportunity in 2021 to finally follow my passions and that's when Cat Brant Photography was born.

It would be hard to say what I didn't photograph in the first year, it was a year of YES! And I covered everything from products, e-commerce, property, branding, families, events, commercial, fashion and headshots giving me wide experience in many fields of discipline.

Fast forward to today, my days are mostly filled with wedding related photography but I also photograph events, branding and portraits. I am such a photography geek and there isnt much I dont know about flash, film and digital photography.

When I got married, the photographer I chose was editorial. Shots were posed and I was uncomfortable, they are beautiful but it wasn't the experience that I wanted for my own wedding day.
I am now the photographer I needed- I can read a room and know when to step back and capture moments as they happen and when moments might need a little extra direction.

I like to spend as little as possible time posing my couples so prompts are kept quick, efficient and fun and the goal really is that when you look at your gallery you remember all the fun, love and joy in the room!
My husband is my rock. We got married back in 2018, a sun-soaked ceremony in Santorini proceeded by an English celebration at Guildford Registry Office and The Ivy Castle View. We’re both sci-fi film lovers and total foodies, and when we get the chance, we love long walks, spa days, and generally switching off from the chaos.

We’re not the gushy romantic types, so I’ll keep it simple... he’s great. He’s also incredibly supportive (especially with childcare), which means I can stay flexible for my clients rather than the other way around.

We’ve got two school-age kids who keep life busy, loud, and full of personality and I wouldn’t have it any other way.

Like many artists, my passion for creating images comes from a lifelong love of all things creative. I’ve always been happiest when I’m making something, whether that’s designing shoot concepts, crafting handmade details, writing content, planning marketing ideas, or even building this very website from scratch! Creativity runs through everything I do.

That’s probably why I have such a soft spot for DIY elements on a wedding day. I know how much love, thought, and time goes into those handmade touches, the table decor you spent evenings perfecting, the signage you painted, or the flowers your mum arranged that morning.
I’ll always notice those details, and make sure they’re beautifully captured, because they tell your story just as much as the big moments do.
