A Bridal Party in Pastels and Tux's Walk together

northbrook park wedding photographer

Shannon & Nick had thier first date at the natural history museum, they queued for hours to get in. It's a story that's formed part of thier history and as such their wedding theme was born! From cufflinks to table names, every tiny detail was carefully planned to match the theme and I was so honoured to capture the day for these two. Shannon had a pastel themed bridal party with matching coloured bouquets.

Northbrook park is a fantastic venue that allows a lovely flow for guests from ceremony to reception that includes courtyards, gardens and parking in a space that feels so private. The light in each space is ideal for wedding photography with soft diffused window light from all directions in each space.

a lovely review from Shannon

'Oh Cat I can't believe how quickly you've sent them across.

I've spent the entire evening going through them.

You've captured the day perfectly and we couldn't have asked for more.

We absolutely love them ❤️

Thank you so much for everything you are honestly so amazing and we can't thank you enough'

choosing a documentary style, candid photographer

Shannon & Nick knew they needed to spend a few minutes taking formal photos but they also felt strongly that they didn't want to miss the wedding they had spent so long planning and seeing all thier friends and family. Understaning this I split portrait sessions into two 5 minute slots, one we managed to squeeze in between two family portraits as we waited to retrieve all the right people for that shot and the other was at sunset. Making these quick, fun and simple meant they could get right back into the action.

As a documentary style wedding photographer I prefer to capture the moment as it happens, I'm always aware of the timeline as they day progresses so I can be in the right place to capture each moment without having to step in and 'stage' anything.

Shannon sent me this message after her wedding and this really made me smile because this is what my service is all about: 'You made us both feel so comfortable and we didn’t feel like we missed out on anything during the day as you completely understood us rather than making it too much of a photoshoot.'
