vow renewal photographer at hOOK hoUSE fARM

10 year anniversary love birds Lucy & Pat were joined by thier two children and parents for an intimage vow renewal at Hook House Farm led by celebrant Emily at Madewithlovecelebrations.

Why Get Hitched (or Re-Hitched) at Hook House Farm

If you’re planning a vow renewal at Hook House Farm, you couldn’t choose a more charming or personal setting. This beautiful Hampshire venue blends rustic elegance with countryside calm, the perfect backdrop for celebrating your love story all over again. As a vow renewal photographer, I love how Hook House Farm’s character-filled barns, open fields and golden-hour light create space for authentic, emotive storytelling. Whether you’re keeping it intimate with close family or planning a relaxed party surrounded by nature, Hook House Farm offers endless opportunities for natural, documentary-style photos that capture the warmth, laughter and connection of the day.

micro coverage

I know that hours and hours of wedding coverage can feel like overkill for smaller celebrations like vow renewals, elopements, or registry office ceremonies, but I genuinely believe it’s still worth hiring a photographer. These moments might be shorter, but they’re just as meaningful, and they deserve to be documented with care.

That’s why I offer a bespoke photography package designed specifically for intimate events like these. It gives you the same storytelling approach, attention to detail and natural, documentary style that I bring to full-day weddings just tailored to suit a smaller timeline and a more relaxed pace.

CELEBRANT LED vOW RENEWALS

Why choose a celebrant over a registrar?

Well, you can’t legally remarry but even if you could, I’d still choose a celebrant every time. A celebrant-led ceremony gives you complete freedom to make the day truly yours. You’re not restricted by formal scripts, timings, or locations, and you can include personal vows, readings, and rituals that actually reflect your story.

Unlike a registrar, who’s there to make it legal and move on to the next couple, a celebrant spends time getting to know you both and crafting something completely bespoke. Whether you want to include children, pets, music, or a symbolic gesture that means something special, they’ll make it happen like Lucy & Pat's handfasting.

It’s the perfect choice for vow renewals, elopements, or couples who want to celebrate their marriage without the formalities, relaxed, heartfelt, and beautifully personal.

Lucy & Pat's Day

I can't think of a better place to recommit your love than in the wedding venue that you stood in exactly 10 years prior to say your vows the first time and that's exactly what Lucy & Pat did! With just a handful of thier family members including thier two beautiful children. The pair spoke thier own written vows, but who goes first? This was chosen in a game of rock paper scissors played by thier kids. Followed by a handfasting, kisses, bubbles and cake!

proper british vow renewal ideas

Pub Garden Party

Hire out your favourite countryside pub or riverside inn, complete with fairy lights, local ale & cider, BBQ or wood-fired pizza van. Say your vows under a big oak tree or in a rustic barn bit out back. Add a live folk band or even a ceilidh. It’s low-fuss, very “us”, and properly British.

racecourse or Polo Club Do

Have your vow renewal on a non-race day at a racecourse grandstand or polo ground. Think vintage tweed, fascinators, Pimm’s on the lawn, and maybe some fun bets or lawn games. Classy, playful, and very Home Counties chic.

Castle Ruin Picnic

Hire access to a local historic ruin or keep (lots do private hires). Bring blankets, hampers from M&S or Fortnum’s, fizz, and have a laid-back picnic with your guests. Say your vows against stone arches, then toast with English sparkling wine.

Seaside Arcade Vow Renewal

Pick a classic British seaside spot (Brighton Palace Pier, Blackpool, Whitby). Say your vows on the beach or promenade, then hit the arcades, fish & chips, and candy floss. Finish with a cheesy photo booth strip and a few rides on the helter-skelter.

Village Hall “Big Night Out”

Go fully tongue-in-cheek: book your local village hall, deck it out with disco balls and bunting, have a pie & mash supper or curry buffet, and renew your vows on the dancefloor. Think wedding part two meets retro school disco, everyone loves it, everyone laughs.
