A Case Study in Creating Captivating Visuals​

In the competitive world of aesthetics clinics, a strong brand image is essential to stand out and attract clients. High-quality visuals play a significant role in establishing this image. In this case study, we will explore the journey of photographing an aesthetics clinic's branding shoot, focusing on research, personality, brand image, headshots, clinic, and details.

 

Research: Understanding not only the industry but the unique business 

 

Before embarking on any branding shoot, it is crucial to conduct thorough research. In this case, I delved deep into the aesthetics industry. I studied the clinic's niche, target audience, and competitors, which provided valuable insights for our photography direction. Bethany sent me a handful of content from other business to draw inspiration from so I understood her vision for these images fully. 

 

Personality

 

Every aesthetics clinic has a unique personality that sets it apart from the rest. To convey this personality through visuals, I first carried out a consultation with Beth the clinic's owner, and during the shoot took a bit of time to understand the staff, and clients. This allowed me to understand the clinic's core values, mission, and the feelings they wished to evoke in their audience. Beth and the team are warm and friendly, each client that came in felt like a best friend and I wanted to ensure that headshots for Beth were not just professional but really showed her lovely bubbly personality. 

 

Brand Image: Crafting the Visual Identity

 

With a clear understanding of the clinic's personality, I worked to ensure that while the images are in different rooms, settings and of different services and people that the images came together cohesively to meet the brand image.

 

Headshots: Bringing Out the Team's Best

 

The staff members of an aesthetics clinic are a crucial part of the brand image. For the headshots, we focused on highlighting the team's professionalism, friendliness, and expertise. We chose a warm and inviting setting to put the subjects at ease and capture genuine smiles and expressions.

 

Clinic: Showcasing the Space

 

The clinic itself plays a significant role in the overall branding. I carefully selected angles and lighting to showcase the clinic's modern equipment, cleanliness, and inviting atmosphere. Wide shots of the reception area and treatment rooms allowed potential clients to get a glimpse of what to expect. I brought with me a large soft box and strobes to ensure areas were well lit and visually pleasing. This was more important in atmospherically lit spaces like the massage room that was lit with a single ambient light. 

 

Details: Telling the Story

 

Details can be powerful storytellers. I zoomed in on the little things that make the clinic special, such as the decor, awards, and certificates. These images acted as visual proof of the clinic's credibility and commitment to excellence.
