July's Flower Top Shoots!

Updated: Aug 12, 2023

In July 2023 I had lots of really lovely clients join me for flower top sessions, each one was unique and beautiful just like my clients.

Flowers were chosen for each woman based on her personality, experiences and aesthetic we were aiming for and I'm so excited to be able to share some of the images from these shoots with you today.

Danielle

Danielle

Recognise this face!? This is my resident hairstylist Danielle from Envyhair, its her first boudoir experience and she smashed it.

Danielle is so stunning and I wanted to keep her shoot fairly simple so we wouldn't detract from her gorgeous face, thankfully these beautiful peonies were just in season and I saw them and immediately knew they'd be the flower for Danielle, I chose white stocks to compliment the peonies and they smelt gorgeous.

All of my clients took a bouquet of their flowers home with them (if holding them for an hour hadn't killed them!)

All these pinks tied in beautifully with the Barbie release!

Nikki

Nikki originally contacted me about boudoir photoshoots a few months back, she wanted to take some images that both made her feel beautiful and sexy and also highlighted a different side of disability to her audience on her socials and blog.

I was really keen to provide a beautiful experience for Nikki that made her feel feminine without masking her wheelchair bur rather highlighting it is a part of her story. I bought a mixture of colourful fresh seasonal flowers and then tripled that amount to ensure we could really wrap her in flowers.

The studio smelt like heaven and I think she looks stunning!

Feedback from Nikki:

I had an amazing flower photo shoot and I loved it!it was so empowering and got to show the sexy side of disability and wheelchairs. Definitely recommend
From a disability perspective the garden studio has a wide door way suitable for a wheelchair. There is a slight step to get in but only kerb height and the photographer is happy to provide ramps on request if needed. The photographer seemed happy to help however she could.

Tasha

One of my new favourite returning customers Tasha, I MIGHT have been a little told off my Instagram for posting these so I had to hurriedly take them back down. Maybe all this time taking boudoir photos has skewed my perspective on acceptable nudity! Tasha's husband is a bum man so we had to make sure to get a great shot of her rear end for him.

Tasha's last shoot was a Neon black out so I wanted to go for a total juxtaposition and offer her a white, clean set using reflections and old naked goddesses from paintings as inspiration.

July's mini sessions are over BUT:

If you love any of these aesthetics you are welcome to combine them into a full shoot, pop me a message about getting booked in and lets talk about your dream photos!

All my love

hi! I'm cat and i am a full time wedding photographer
(and a little bit of a photography geek!)

I started taking photos as a teenager, my Dad was a wedding photographer and I would often help him. In 2021 I left my corporate job with a dream and hope that I could make photography a full time job. Since then I have been pouring my heart and soul into this business and have been honoured to be chosen as wedding photographer for so many lovely couples as well as being a portrait and event photographer.
I TAKE CLASSIC, TIMELESS, DOCUMENTARY STYLE PHOTOGRAPHS WITH MINIMAL INTRUSION

But I will step in and offer gentle guidance when it's right to do so, I have learned over the years to read the room, anticipate the next move, hold space when needed and offer support when I can.

aRE YOU LOOKING FOR A WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER?
When choosing a wedding photographer, consider their style, experience, portfolio, and reviews from previous clients. It's also important to discuss pricing, availability, and any specific requests you may have.

Don't forget to meet with them in person to ensure you have good chemistry and feel comfortable with their approach.

Once you have narrowed down your list of potential wedding photographers, it's a good idea to ask them some key questions to help you make your final decision.

Here are a few questions to consider:

  • What is your photography style? Do you prefer a more traditional approach or a more candid, documentary style?

  • Do you have experience with weddings of a similar size and style to mine?

  • Can I see a full gallery of a recent wedding you photographed? This will give you a better sense of their consistency and quality of work.

  • Do you have backup equipment in case something goes wrong on the day of the wedding?

  • How do you handle difficult lighting situations (e.g. low light, harsh sunlight, indoor vs. outdoor)? This will help you gauge their technical expertise.

  • What is included in your packages? Are there any additional fees I should be aware of (e.g. travel, overtime)?

  • How long will it take to receive my photos after the wedding? Will they be edited and retouched?

  • Can you accommodate any special requests I have (e.g. specific shots, family portraits)?

  • How do you ensure that you capture all of the important moments on the day of the wedding?

By asking these questions and having an open and honest conversation with your wedding photographer, you can ensure that you find the right fit for your big day.
