Thinking about getting hitched at one of Surrey’s most lovely rustic barn venues, Cain Manor? I’m Cat and I take documentary style wedding photos with a storytelling approach- this means I love all the little inbetween moments as well as the big ones so that when you view your gallery you can really relive your day through all the details and memories.
As a photographer with an editorial background I can direct when needed and organise formal portraits then slip into the background immediately afterwards. I believe the photos are about the wedding, the wedding isn’t about the photos so my approach is as unobtrusive as possible!

Cain Manor is one of Hampshire’s most sought-after wedding venues. It’s a romantic country house on the border of Surrey and Hampshire that has a sophisticated barn vibe. The barn-style oak beams, panoramic countryside views, and private setting make it a great choice for couples who want something elegant yet relaxed. I personally love the gigantic chess set and golden hour long grass!
With 14 on-site bedrooms, this is one of a handful of wedding venues locally that offers space for your guests to stay. It’s also exclusive use and has a seamless indoor-outdoor flow which is great for weddings where some guests have limited mobility.
There’s a real opportunity to dress the venue in ways that feel super personal and each couple can put their own stamp on it. There are also loads of places for photos including the gorgeous long grass, manicured gardens, glass doors, metal pergola and chess board.
The getting ready room is so gorgeous and has lovely outdoor spaces for your bridal party to chill.
Why Choose a Photographer Who’s Already Photographed a Wedding at Cain Manor?
Choosing a photographer who’s already worked at Cain Manor gives you a major advantage. Every venue has its quirks from the way the light falls in the ceremony room to how quickly it changes in the grounds, and where to find those quiet corners for intimate moments away from guests.
Having photographed weddings at Cain Manor before, I know the best angles to capture the stunning architecture without losing the warmth of your connection.
I also know how to navigate the schedule efficiently, working seamlessly with the venue team to keep things relaxed and stress-free.
Familiarity with the space means I can focus entirely on storytelling rather than logistics ensuring your photos look natural, elegant, and effortless.

5 Top Tips for Wedding Photographs at Cain Manor
Use the natural light – The floor-to-ceiling windows in the room are perfect for soft, flattering ceremony photos.

Golden hour portraits – Step outside around 40 minutes before sunset for photos overlooking the fields; any later and you’ll loose the sun under the treeline. The golden light amongst the grass is so gorgeous.

Confetti moment – The back entrance is ideal for a confetti throw, plenty of spac3 and hard standing to line guests up- I like a curved confetti line here if you have enough guests!

Make the most of the interiors – Rain or shine, the oak beams, sweeping staircase, and cosy areas provide stunning backdrops for portraits and candid storytelling.

Use the front driveway for big bridal party photos, there’s so much room here and the house in the background is gorgeous.
