Rayelle booked a family photoshoot for her Mum's 60th birthday in late August 2026 and we popped out to create some portraits they would be proud to hang on her walls, her, her daughter and her granddaughters and it was just the perfect evening for it.
If you're reading this blog in 2026 you'll remember that the hot summer scorched the flowers and the heather at Frensham Little Pond this year was a little more orange and brown and a lot less purple than usual but lukily I had gone on a scouting mission and found a lovely little spot where the heather had been protected in the shade of some trees for her first round of photos.
For the second round the heather was on a little higher ground with a dead wood tree that provided a little more depth for some gorgeous soft portraits that kept the same purple hues without the busier backdrop of the first space.
The key to really lovely family photos is a relaxed family! We spent a bit of time chatting and getting to know one another and then I asked them to talk to one another, look for swans and runners and spend a bit of time getting comfortable before introducing new combinations of the group so we could have lots of variety in the gallery.
