Wedding Supplier Branding at Millbridge Court

When Alex at The Wild Garden Florist asked me to update her branding images, what she needed was some professional photos of her 'in action' and asked if I would come with her while she set up for a local wedding at Millbridge Court.

Natural Branding For Wedding Suppliers

Showing your face on your website, social media, and anywhere your business lives is so important. It builds trust, creates a connection, and helps potential clients feel more confident in choosing you. When people see you in action, it reinforces that you’re the real deal—that you’ll show up as promised, bring your full self, and deliver the experience you’ve talked about.

This shoot happened early in the morning, before the wedding photographer arrived, which was key to staying out of the way. If you're thinking about booking a branding shoot like this, make sure you have permission from the couple and the venue first. And if there's a media team involved, it's a good idea to check in with them too. It makes everything run more smoothly, and ensures you can use the images afterwards without any hiccups.

Millbridge Court

This is a gorgeous light, intimate venue with separate ceremony and reception spaces (which I love because sometimes the turnover of a room can be a little awkward. The huge windows at the back lead onto a view of landscaped gardens, and there are far-reaching countryside views to the left outside. The reception space is just as light and airy, and honestly, perfect for branding images as well as wedding photography!

The Wild Garden Florist

Alex is a Crowthorne-based florist who specialises in floral artistry for weddings and covers Berkshire and beyond. Her work is stunning; you can check out more of it here.

I first met Alex at another shoot where she brought the flowers and styled flat lays and we've had the pleasure of meeting a few times since, I know she will bring her talent and warmth to any wedding day, and it's an honour to recommend her.

For this session, Alex wanted to show the behind-the-scenes of what she does best—her hands placing delicate stems into foam, the way she steps back and takes in the bigger picture, and those quiet moments of focus before the floral magic is complete.

What I loved most about photographing Alex is how natural she is in her element. There’s no forced posing, no awkward smiles—just her, doing what she loves. And that’s exactly what branding photography should be about: capturing the real version of you, in a beautiful and considered way.

What Other Wedding Suppliers Can Benefit from a Branding Shoot?

It’s not just florists who benefit from behind-the-scenes wedding supplier branding photography. Wedding planners, videographers, photographers, celebrants, caterers, cake designers, stylists, DJs—anyone working in the wedding industry can elevate their brand by showing what they do, how they do it, and the experience they bring.

For planners, a branding session might capture you styling a tablescape, reviewing a timeline, or coordinating with a venue team—moments that show the calm, in-control presence you bring to the day. For videographers and photographers, I can document you setting up, interacting with a couple, or capturing golden hour portraits—images that feel candid and effortless but still professional. DJs might want shots of their setup, lighting details, and that all-important moment when the dance floor kicks off. These kinds of images don’t just look good—they help communicate your value, professionalism, and personality in a way words alone can’t.

Images of your products, styled to match your brand!

There is often a professional photographer at weddings who is more than happy to photograph your products, but often these come with the photographer's signature editing style, and that may not match your brands aesthetic. Hiring your own photographer for your branding and in images gives you some control over the final images so that they seamlessly fit into your marketing.

Here's a lovely bouquet of flowers Alex made, sat in the sunlight and we also grabbed some in the shade too. After speaking to Alex I knew that keeping the colours true to life was important for her because she wanted the real flower colours to show.

Real Wedding Day Interactions, Real Connection

One of the most powerful things you can do in a branding shoot is include real interactions with your clients. These moments—laughing with a couple, adjusting a buttonhole, calming nerves just before the ceremony—capture the heart of what makes you you. They’re unscripted, honest, and full of connection. When potential clients see those genuine interactions, they don’t just see what you do, they feel what it’s like to work with you. That emotional pull is what sets you apart and builds trust before you've even had a conversation.

Alex included two interactions, delivering the bouquet and pinning a buttonhole, both of those moments are something she does on many wedding days and now her clients can see how that would work for them.

hi! I'm cat and i am a full time wedding photographer
(and a little bit of a photography geek!)

I started taking photos as a teenager, my Dad was a wedding photographer and I would often help him. In 2021 I left my corporate job with a dream and hope that I could make photography a full time job. Since then I have been pouring my heart and soul into this business and have been honoured to be chosen as wedding photographer for so many lovely couples as well as being a portrait and event photographer.
I TAKE CLASSIC, TIMELESS, DOCUMENTARY STYLE PHOTOGRAPHS WITH MINIMAL INTRUSION

But I will step in and offer gentle guidance when it's right to do so, I have learned over the years to read the room, anticipate the next move, hold space when needed and offer support when I can.

aRE YOU LOOKING FOR A WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER?
When choosing a wedding photographer, consider their style, experience, portfolio, and reviews from previous clients. It's also important to discuss pricing, availability, and any specific requests you may have.

Don't forget to meet with them in person to ensure you have good chemistry and feel comfortable with their approach.

Once you have narrowed down your list of potential wedding photographers, it's a good idea to ask them some key questions to help you make your final decision.

Here are a few questions to consider:

  • What is your photography style? Do you prefer a more traditional approach or a more candid, documentary style?

  • Do you have experience with weddings of a similar size and style to mine?

  • Can I see a full gallery of a recent wedding you photographed? This will give you a better sense of their consistency and quality of work.

  • Do you have backup equipment in case something goes wrong on the day of the wedding?

  • How do you handle difficult lighting situations (e.g. low light, harsh sunlight, indoor vs. outdoor)? This will help you gauge their technical expertise.

  • What is included in your packages? Are there any additional fees I should be aware of (e.g. travel, overtime)?

  • How long will it take to receive my photos after the wedding? Will they be edited and retouched?

  • Can you accommodate any special requests I have (e.g. specific shots, family portraits)?

  • How do you ensure that you capture all of the important moments on the day of the wedding?

By asking these questions and having an open and honest conversation with your wedding photographer, you can ensure that you find the right fit for your big day.
