Elevating Just Flat Whites – A Fleet Coffee Van Built for Weddings

Based in Fleet, and just down the road from me, Will got in touch after finding my work on Instagram. He needed professional imagery for his brand new website and future marketing, photographs that would position him firmly within the wedding world rather than the generic event hire market.

Because while the name is playful, Just Flat Whites offers more than one drink. His menu includes Americanos, espressos, babycinos, water, oat milk options, and a selection of artisan bakes, cookies, brownies and cinnamon buns supplied by Butter and Batch.

And when your target audience is engaged couples planning one of the most visually curated days of their lives, average imagery won’t cut it.

Why Wedding Supplier Branding Photography Matters

Before the shoot, I did what most suppliers don’t: proper market research.

I looked at five local competitors offering wedding coffee van hire. The pattern was clear. Most relied on:

  • Stock imagery

  • iPhone photos

  • Inconsistent lighting

  • No cohesive brand identity

  • Very few personality-driven portraits

For couples planning DIY, festival-style or relaxed outdoor weddings, artisan details matter. But so does trust. They want to see:

  • The quality of the product

  • The cleanliness and presentation of the van

  • The personality of the person serving their guests

  • A consistent, polished brand

Professional branding photography bridges that gap immediately.

Creative Planning & Prep

This wasn’t a “turn up and hope for the best” situation.

Before meeting Will, I created a private Pinterest mood board filled with ideas tailored to:

  • Wedding marketing visuals

  • Instagram grid cohesion

  • Website banner imagery

  • Detail-led storytelling

Will chose a green backdrop location to keep the vibe natural and wedding-friendly. By pure luck, we were gifted golden hour, with the sun positioned directly behind the van.

To keep the light clean and natural (without losing sharpness), I used flash with a large diffuser. This allowed me to maintain that warm sunset glow while creating crisp, professional results that feel polished rather than overly stylised.

What We Captured in One Hour

In just 60 minutes of shooting time, Will received around 130 curated images, including:

  • Close-ups of espresso pours

  • Grinding beans and steaming milk

  • Flat lays of cookies and brownies

  • Product shots of individual products

  • Wide shots of the van

  • Portraits of Will with the van

  • Website hero images

  • Instagram-ready product consistency shots

  • Playful personality content

Photoshoot branding isn’t just about aesthetics, it’s about range and longevity. I know that customers are looking not just for proffesionalism but personality and relatability. Stiff headshots don't cut anymore. Those white studio and a stool branding sessions were lovely but they're so done and rarely show any real personality anymore.

We shot clean product images he can use whenever he talks about:

  • Oat milk

  • Babycinos

  • Brownies

  • Cinnamon buns

  • Equipment details

This gives him 6–12 months of cohesive content without scrambling for last-minute posts.

Personality Is the Brand

Will isn’t just a coffee van owner. During the week, he’s a primary school teacher and he genuinely loves it.

He’s warm, bubbly and naturally kind. That needed to come through.

So yes, we captured professional headshots. But we also:

  • Had him hold stacks of takeaway cups

  • Shot him laughing mid-pour

  • Used brownies as “eyes” for a playful frame

  • Captured candid smiles and movement

Wedding couples don’t just hire services. They hire people. If a bride is choosing between two coffee vans at similar price points, she’ll book the one who feels approachable and fun.

Photography plays a direct role in that decision.

The Result

Will now has:

  • Website-ready branding visuals

  • Consistent Instagram content

  • Clear product imagery

  • Strong personality portraits

  • Elevated positioning within the wedding market

Instead of looking like “another coffee van”, Just Flat Whites now looks like a considered wedding supplier.

Five-Star Feedback

Will left a five-star Google review after the shoot:

“Cat was fantastic to work with, great at communicating, lovely on location, and incredibly talented at photography. I'm so happy I contacted her as I can't wait to do more shoots in the future.”

Why I Love Photographing Wedding Suppliers

Wedding branding photography is different from standard commercial work.

I understand what couples look for because:

  • I work with brides every week

  • I see what makes them enquire

  • I know what elevates perceived value

  • I’ve been a bride myself

That perspective shapes how I shoot suppliers. It’s not just about clean photos, but strategic positioning within the wedding market.

If you're a wedding supplier launching, rebranding or simply tired of inconsistent imagery, professional branding photography isn’t a luxury it's what sets you apart! Plus you'll get a blog post justlike this with your backlink!

hi! I'm cat and i am a full time wedding photographer
(and a little bit of a photography geek!)

I started taking photos as a teenager, my Dad was a wedding photographer and I would often help him. In 2021 I left my corporate job with a dream and hope that I could make photography a full time job. Since then I have been pouring my heart and soul into this business and have been honoured to be chosen as wedding photographer for so many lovely couples as well as being a portrait and event photographer.
I TAKE CLASSIC, TIMELESS, DOCUMENTARY STYLE PHOTOGRAPHS WITH MINIMAL INTRUSION

But I will step in and offer gentle guidance when it's right to do so, I have learned over the years to read the room, anticipate the next move, hold space when needed and offer support when I can.

aRE YOU LOOKING FOR A WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER?
When choosing a wedding photographer, consider their style, experience, portfolio, and reviews from previous clients. It's also important to discuss pricing, availability, and any specific requests you may have.

Don't forget to meet with them in person to ensure you have good chemistry and feel comfortable with their approach.

Once you have narrowed down your list of potential wedding photographers, it's a good idea to ask them some key questions to help you make your final decision.

Here are a few questions to consider:

  • What is your photography style? Do you prefer a more traditional approach or a more candid, documentary style?

  • Do you have experience with weddings of a similar size and style to mine?

  • Can I see a full gallery of a recent wedding you photographed? This will give you a better sense of their consistency and quality of work.

  • Do you have backup equipment in case something goes wrong on the day of the wedding?

  • How do you handle difficult lighting situations (e.g. low light, harsh sunlight, indoor vs. outdoor)? This will help you gauge their technical expertise.

  • What is included in your packages? Are there any additional fees I should be aware of (e.g. travel, overtime)?

  • How long will it take to receive my photos after the wedding? Will they be edited and retouched?

  • Can you accommodate any special requests I have (e.g. specific shots, family portraits)?

  • How do you ensure that you capture all of the important moments on the day of the wedding?

By asking these questions and having an open and honest conversation with your wedding photographer, you can ensure that you find the right fit for your big day.
