Froyle Park Wedding Photographer

As a Surrey wedding photographer, there are some venues that offer endless opportunities for beautiful, natural wedding photography, and Froyle Park in Surrey, England is definitely one of them.

Hi, I'm Cat, a Surrey wedding photographer specialising in natural, colourful and candid wedding photography.

If you're planning a wedding at Froyle Park Country Estate and want photographs that capture genuine moments, real emotions and all the little details you've spent months planning, I'd love to hear from you.

My approach is relaxed and unobtrusive for most of the day, allowing you to spend time with the people you love rather than posing for endless photos. When it comes to your couple portraits, I'll give you just enough direction to help you feel comfortable while keeping everything natural and authentic.

If you're looking for a wedding photographer who captures real colours, genuine moments, beautiful light and the story of your day as it actually happened, keep scrolling to see Becky and Toby's beautiful Froyle Park Country Estate wedding.

Becky and Toby chose this stunning Surrey wedding venue for their May wedding, and despite an overcast start to the day, we were treated to soft, flattering light throughout most of the celebrations before the sunshine made an appearance just in time for golden hour portraits.

Groom Preparations at Froyle Park Country Estate

The day began in Froyle Park's dedicated groom preparation room, a relaxed and stylish space complete with a pool table that always makes for some fun and natural photographs.

Toby spent the morning getting ready alongside his groomsmen, and we captured some individual portraits before heading outside for classic walking-towards-camera photographs that we kept fun, brief and relaxed as Toby doesn't love posing for photos.

Bridal Preparations in The Hideaway

Meanwhile, Becky was getting ready in The Hideaway, one of Froyle Park Country Estate's beautiful preparation suites.

One of my favourite details from the morning was their stationery. Their invitations had been personalised with illustrations of their two beloved cats, adding a wonderfully personal touch to the day. They also had very cute cut out cat masks for the evening which you can see further down the gallery!

The styling details were elegant and timeless. Becky wore a simple strapless satin gown with a button-back detail and cathedral-length veil. Her bouquet was beautifully wild and romantic, featuring white peonies, soft pink blooms and plenty of textured greenery.

After some relaxed bridal portraits and photographs with her bridesmaids, Becky shared an emotional first look with her dad. These are often some of the most meaningful moments of a wedding morning, and there wasn't a dry eye in the room as he saw his daughter for the first time.

An Outdoor Wedding Ceremony at Froyle Park Country Estate

One of the biggest draws of Froyle Park Country Estate is its beautiful outdoor ceremony space.

Set within the gardens, Becky and Toby exchanged vows surrounded by family and friends beneath the venue's elegant outdoor structure, creating a wonderfully romantic backdrop for their ceremony.

A heartfelt reading from Becky's grandfather made the ceremony even more personal, before the couple signed the register and walked back down the aisle as newlyweds.

Following the ceremony, guests gathered on the path at the back of the venue for a joyful confetti moment using soft pink and white rose petals, creating some of my favourite candid images of the day.

Relaxed Reception Drinks and Family Photographs

One thing I always encourage couples to do is keep family photographs efficient so they can spend more time enjoying their guests. Assigning a responsible adult to help round up family members for photos is a great idea and keeps it all moving so it can be finished as soon as possible.

After a quick round of group photographs, Becky and Toby were free to enjoy their drinks reception while I captured natural moments of guests chatting, laughing and celebrating.

We also took a short selection of newlywed portraits around the grounds before heading inside to photograph their reception room before guests entered.

Reception Styling Inspiration

The reception space at Froyle Park Country Estate looked stunning and included a lot of lovely personal details that Becky & Toby had put a lot of thought and effort into.

The bright, airy room was filled with natural light and featured a long top table overlooking the gardens.

Each place setting included personalised blue menus and hand-written acrylic name tags tied with matching blue ribbons, guests were also treated to scratch cards. One of my favourite details was really cute table numbers with pictures of the bride and groom at that age. Thoughtful details like these always help make a wedding feel uniquely personal.

Their elegant two-tier cake from Forget Me Not Bakes was decorated with fresh flowers and featured vanilla and chocolate sponge layers inside.

Entertainment That Kept Everyone Involved

One of the standout parts of Becky and Toby's wedding was how interactive the day felt.

During dinner, each table was given an envelope containing instructions and a captain's armband. Every table selected a captain whose job was to encourage their team to complete a series of hilarious challenges throughout the wedding breakfast.

From conga lines to human pyramids, the games created countless genuine moments and lots of laughter.

The entertainment was expertly hosted by ME Entertainment, whose energy kept guests engaged throughout the day.

Another brilliant addition was the table dash, where each table had just ten seconds to run up for a quick photograph with the bride and groom before racing back to their seats. It's such a fun way to make sure everyone appears in at least one photograph with the couple.

Golden Hour Portraits

Just as dinner came to an end, the clouds parted and we were treated to a few minutes of beautiful evening sunshine.

We slipped outside for a handful of relaxed portraits around the grounds, taking advantage of the warm golden light before returning to the party.

By this point, Becky had changed into a second dress, a lighter, more relaxed gown that was perfect for dancing and enjoying the evening celebrations.

Evening Celebrations

As the sun set, we captured some direct flash portraits for a more modern editorial feel before moving into the evening festivities.

The cake cutting was full of energy, and the first dance took place beneath soft pink lighting and projected heart patterns across the dance floor.

One of the highlights was a beautifully executed lift during their first dance, which looked incredible in photographs.

As the dance floor filled, we embraced one of the biggest wedding trends of the year with some fun sunglasses photographs alongside plenty of candid guest moments.

Drone Photography at Froyle Park Country Estate

To finish the gallery, I captured a handful of drone photographs showcasing the beautiful grounds of Froyle Park Country Estate.

I always love providing couples with a few aerial images of their venue. Not only do they tell the story of the day from a different perspective, but they also create beautiful image that couples can display in their homes for years to come.

hi! I'm cat and i am a full time wedding photographer
(and a little bit of a photography geek!)

I started taking photos as a teenager, my Dad was a wedding photographer and I would often help him. In 2021 I left my corporate job with a dream and hope that I could make photography a full time job. Since then I have been pouring my heart and soul into this business and have been honoured to be chosen as wedding photographer for so many lovely couples as well as being a portrait and event photographer.
I TAKE CLASSIC, TIMELESS, DOCUMENTARY STYLE PHOTOGRAPHS WITH MINIMAL INTRUSION

But I will step in and offer gentle guidance when it's right to do so, I have learned over the years to read the room, anticipate the next move, hold space when needed and offer support when I can.

aRE YOU LOOKING FOR A WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER?
When choosing a wedding photographer, consider their style, experience, portfolio, and reviews from previous clients. It's also important to discuss pricing, availability, and any specific requests you may have.

Don't forget to meet with them in person to ensure you have good chemistry and feel comfortable with their approach.

Once you have narrowed down your list of potential wedding photographers, it's a good idea to ask them some key questions to help you make your final decision.

Here are a few questions to consider:

  • What is your photography style? Do you prefer a more traditional approach or a more candid, documentary style?

  • Do you have experience with weddings of a similar size and style to mine?

  • Can I see a full gallery of a recent wedding you photographed? This will give you a better sense of their consistency and quality of work.

  • Do you have backup equipment in case something goes wrong on the day of the wedding?

  • How do you handle difficult lighting situations (e.g. low light, harsh sunlight, indoor vs. outdoor)? This will help you gauge their technical expertise.

  • What is included in your packages? Are there any additional fees I should be aware of (e.g. travel, overtime)?

  • How long will it take to receive my photos after the wedding? Will they be edited and retouched?

  • Can you accommodate any special requests I have (e.g. specific shots, family portraits)?

  • How do you ensure that you capture all of the important moments on the day of the wedding?

By asking these questions and having an open and honest conversation with your wedding photographer, you can ensure that you find the right fit for your big day.
